Good news, everyone! Status update of our delivery capabilities

With the RevPi Connect 4, we finally can leave the chip crisis behind. Now, we want to provide an outlook on our ability to deliver and explain how we manage to secure it this time. And we’d like to thank you for your patience.

How to get a Revolution Pi

We can finally answer that briefly: Our online store is finally back up and running, but of course RevPis can also be purchased through all the other usual channels. Our sales department (sales@kunbus.com) prefers to send out offers for bulk orders and our distributors are currently being supplied with material.

How we are securing the needed numbers

Well, our storage is pretty full. We became hoarders securing all parts once they were available. Additionally, we looked for alternative parts. The RevPi Connect 4 was re-designed to ensure we maintain our known quality while working with potentially solid delivery prospects. Still, some delivery dates keep being changed but to word it carefully: we see ourselves in a good position to provide enough devices for the expected demand.

Why it was impossible to get RevPis

The global chip shortage has been a rollercoaster ride. Since 2021, we eagerly anticipated the RevPi Connect 4, but it remained just out of reach. In 2022, amidst the chaos, a glimmer of hope emerged—the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S. We could introduce the RevPi S and SE series as a bridge between the 3+ series and the RevPi Connect 4. However, the chip shortage continued to pose challenges. Soon, the CM4S wasn’t available any longer, and delivery dates of other parts planned for the RevPi Connect 4 were pushed back as far as 2024. Now, the situation has eased, but predictions remain cautious ‘cause we don’t want to jinx it.

All that is left to say

The first units of the RevPi Connect 4 are already shipping and there’s more about to be available. At this point, all that is left to say is thank you to our customers who showed the most patience and unwavering support we could ask for. We are aware that the situation was tense, and projects were stuck, all while there was no chance to make promises. Your loyalty means the world to us.

Thank you,
