Intended Use #
The RevPi is an industrial device and was developed for use in a control cabinet. The device can only operate properly and safely if:

the information in the technical data sheet and the technical documentation is observed.

only qualified personnel work on the device.
-
personal safety does not depend on the function of the device.
-
the appliance is not used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
-
the device is connected to an approved power supply.
-
only approved cabling and accessories are used.
-
the device is only used indoors.
-
the device does not come into contact with aggressive media such as chemicals or oil.
-
the device is not subsequently processed.
-
the degree of protection and protection class of the switch cabinet comply with the standards intended for the application.

all local safety regulations are observed.
-
all safety instructions are observed.
Additional requirements for RevPi with WLAN (in accordance with DIN EN 18031-1:2025-05) that must be met to ensure safe, CE-compliant operation of the device:

The device may only be used as a dedicated application platform based on RevPi Images.

The device may only be used in controlled network environments in which the following conditions are met:

A network system is in place that provides protection against denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.

The network has data traffic control and monitoring mechanisms in place to detect and limit abnormal or malicious activity.

The customer environment includes physical access restrictions that limit direct access to authorized personnel.

The software is regularly updated to address security-related improvements.

The device is not intended for use:

as a network infrastructure component (e.g., router, firewall, or switch).

in public or unmonitored networks without upstream protection infrastructure.

There is a risk of fatal electrical shock when working on devices in the switch cabinet with 230 V mains voltage. ▷ Operations in the switch cabinet may only be carried out by qualified electricians. ▷ Before carrying out any operations in the switch cabinet, switch off the power supply properly. |

Damage to the device due to overheating
The ambient temperature in the switch cabinet must not exceed the maximum permissible operating temperature. ▷ Keep ventilation slots clear. ▷ Observe the installation clearances. ▷ Mount the device in the intended orientation. ▷ Do not place appliances with high input power directly next to each other. ▷ Regularly remove dust and dirt from the area around the appliance. |

Damage to the device due to impermissible power supply
▷ Observe the maximum voltage supply of 28.8 V DC. ▷ Only use the supplied plug and a suitable power supply unit. ▷ Ensure correct polarity when connecting. ▷ Ensure a stable power supply. |
Dismantling and Disposal #

You require:
✓ A small slotted screwdriver
▷ Make sure that all devices are disconnected from their power supplies.
▷ Remove all connected devices.
▷ If necessary, remove the plug connectors on the top of the housing.
▷ Use the slotted screwdriver to loosen the locking clips on the back of the RevPi.
▷ Dispose of the device in accordance with the locally applicable regulations for waste electronic equipment.

Some RevPi devices are equipped with an integrated lithium battery. The battery has a guaranteed service life of 10 years. Do not replace the battery yourself during the warranty period of the RevPi device.
