The RevPi Flat series combines I/Os, network interfaces, and wireless communication in a compact all-in-one device: developed for photovoltaic, energy management, and building automation systems, designed for installation in domestic sub-distribution. The current flagship is the RevPi Flat S.

Reliable and Secure

Proven in practice through tens of thousands of installations over many years, the RevPi Flat series offers a reliable hardware platform for your project. The integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) enables hardware-based encryption and a secure boot process.

Energy Manage­ment Champion

Control and monitor photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, wallboxes, and battery storage systems vendor-independently and send processed energy data to the cloud. The RevPi Flat S supports protocols such as M-Bus, MQTT, and Modbus.

Thanks to the computing power of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S, the RevPi Flat S smoothly runs modern web interfaces.

Connect important components of your energy and building management systems directly via the four RJ45 Ethernet ports.

Use two or four separate MAC addresses – as required. This allows you to access data from up to four networks securely.

You can connect photovoltaic systems, energy meters, battery storage systems, heat pumps, inverters, and other systems without additional network switches.

Connect hard drives, ZigBee sticks, Bluetooth antennas, cameras, data loggers, and printers via the two USB-A ports.

Integrate the RevPi Flat S into existing networks or use it as an access point for WLAN enabled devices – thanks to the integrated WLAN and BT interfaces.

The BT functionality also enables local device connections and configuration.

The two RS485 interfaces – implemented as a 3-pin screw terminal and RJ13 socket – enable serial communication in industrial environments. This opens up applications such as:

  • Integration of legacy systems
  • Connection to Modbus devices
  • Robust data connections over long distances

Noise-immune differential signaling and built-in protection circuits ensure reliable operation – even under harsh electrical conditions. Typical application areas include:

  • Factory and process automation
  • Building technology

The analog input and the analog output enable a wide range of applications:

  • Control of HVAC systems (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning)
  • Regulation of energy systems
  • Reading analog values from legacy measuring devices
  • Measuring fill levels and pressure values
  • Monitoring environmental parameters

The analog interfaces enable direct integration into your physical infrastructure.

The digital output provides essential control functions in modern energy management systems:

  • Switch non-critical loads for peak demand management
  • Control EV charging stations and energy storage systems
  • Activate standby power systems
  • Control building services equipment
  • Send control signals to inverters
  • Implement safety shutoff functions

The Micro USB port is used for manually flashing the device with new operating system images. This is useful for systems that cannot or should not receive over-the-air updates remotely.
