RevPi Bookworm is based on the Raspberry Pi OS version Bookworm Debian 12.
Delivery period for RevPi Bookworm on RevPi base modules: 10/2024 to 07/2026.

Significant Changes #

  • The Default image of RevPi Bookworm should only be installed on devices with at least 4 GB eMMC memory.

  • As of RevPi Bookworm, the Cockpit application for configuring the RevPi is pre-installed.

  • As of RevPi Bookworm (08/2025), the Revolution Pi system is protected by a firewall.

  • Safety mechanisms under the RED Commission Delegated Regulation 2022/30/EU have been implemented.

  • Upgrading from RevPi Bullseye to RevPi Bookworm is not supported — just as with the Raspberry Pi. The image must be reinstalled on the RevPi devices, see Reinstalling Operating System.

  • The first login after a new installation of RevPi Bookworm is with:
    Default user: pi
    Default password: raspberry
