Challenge
The e-commerce boom places new demands on locker systems: they need to do much more than just securely store valuables. The goal was to find a smart solution that combines parcel logistics, easy operation, and flexible administration.
The key technical challenge: The system must function reliably even without a permanent internet connection while seamlessly integrating various hardware components such as touch screens, barcode scanners, and payment terminals.

Solution
Variocube developed an intelligent locker system with Revolution Pi as the control center. The solution combines intuitive operation via touch screen, web, or app with comprehensive management functions. A particularly clever feature: A local database system ensures full functionality even in offline operation.

Implementation
The RevPi Core serves as the central controller and data hub. It controls all hardware components such as locking systems, barcode readers, and payment terminals. All data is stored locally and synchronized in real-time with the Variocube Cloud (VC core) – guaranteeing uninterrupted operation even during connectivity issues.
