Sustainable Building Energy Management

Challenge
Modern buildings use multiple energy sources, including photovoltaics, heat pumps, and solar thermal systems. Electric vehicles also play an important role as flexible energy storage. The challenge is to seamlessly coordinate these systems to maximize energy efficiency, optimize self-consumption, reduce emissions, and ensure user-friendly operation.
Green Fusion GmbH specializes in digital energy solutions, developing innovative control systems that intelligently integrate renewable energy sources and optimize processes.

Solution
Green Fusion created an AI-powered control solution using Revolution Pi as the central control and communication unit. This system intelligently connects energy components and optimizes their interaction through predictive analytics.

Implementation
The RevPi Core is installed directly in the heating system's control cabinet, communicating with the PLC and an industrial router. It acts as a local fallback web server, ensuring high reliability. Using AI-driven grey-box models, the system continuously simulates and optimizes energy management. Users can control the system through an easy-to-use tablet interface.
Technologies used:
- RevPi Core as central control unit
- Industrial router for secure connectivity
- Local fallback web server
- AI-driven simulation models
- Web-based tablet interface
- PLC integration
Results & Outlook
The Green Fusion Manager, powered by Revolution Pi, lowers energy costs, reduces CO₂ emissions, and increases the self-consumption of photovoltaic systems. It harmonizes multiple energy sources while providing an easy-to-use interface. The future-proof system easily integrates new energy sources and smart home components, and machine learning continuously improves its efficiency.
