ChargePilot® Charging and Energy Management

Challenge
For optimal power supply to corporate fleets, real estate, car dealerships, and charging infrastructure operators, the ChargePilot® charging and energy management system by The Mobility House required a powerful control unit. This unit not only had to ensure a stable data connection between all components but also enable intelligent load distribution in real time.
As part of The Mobility House, The Mobility House Solutions provides reliable charging solutions for corporate fleets, real estate, car dealerships, and charging station operators. With over 2,000 successful projects worldwide, The Mobility House Solutions supports customers in planning, implementing, and operating customized charging infrastructures.

Solution
The RevPi Connect was chosen as the core component of ChargePilot® because it optimally fulfills all technical requirements. Its open architecture enables flexible integration of various systems, while its industrial reliability guarantees stable continuous operation. The device handles second-by-second control of energy flows and intelligently distributes the available charging power to the connected charging points. Thanks to the open Linux platform, various charging stations from different manufacturers and additional third-party systems can be easily integrated into the infrastructure. This flexibility allows The Mobility House to expand their customers' charging infrastructure according to their needs and adapt it to future requirements.

Implementation
The RevPi Connect is installed as the central control unit directly at customer sites. There, it handles real-time communication between all relevant components of the energy system: from charging points and grid connection to local consumers such as buildings and generators like photovoltaic systems. The second-by-second data collection and processing enables precise control of energy flows.
A particular advantage of the implementation lies in local processing: both load measurement and charging power optimization take place directly on-site. This makes ChargePilot® extremely fail-safe. Even during a temporary internet outage or short-term local power fluctuations, the system ensures optimal load management. The local intelligence prevents overloads and ensures efficient distribution of available energy.
In parallel with local control, all relevant data is transmitted to the backend in the cloud. Through the ChargePilot® Dashboard, operators have access to their charging infrastructure at all times. They can monitor charging processes in real-time, intervene when necessary, and conduct comprehensive analyses. This combination of local intelligence and central monitoring makes ChargePilot® a particularly robust and user-friendly solution.
Technologies Used:
- RevPi Connect: Central control unit for local load management
- Communication protocols: Integration of different charging stations and third-party systems
- Cloud connectivity: Remote monitoring and control via the ChargePilot® Dashboard
"Powerful, reliable, and easy to install – the RevPi Connect is perfect for our use case!"
