Connecting I/O Modules and RevPi Gateways

The RevPi Gateways are not supported by the RevPi SE series.

The PiBridge is a backplane bus, which you can use to connect all the modules from the Revolution Pi family.

You can use the PiBridge to connect the following expansion modules:

To a RevPi Connect:

  • Up to 5 expansion modules (e.g. our I/O modules). Of these 5 expansion modules, 1 module may be a RevPi Gateway.
NOTICE

If you are using a RevPi Connect, you may only connect I/O modules and RevPi Gateways on the left-hand side using the black PiBridge connector.

If you connect the modules on the right-hand side (the Connect connection), your devices may be destroyed.

  • Plug the PiBridge, as shown, into the PiBridge connections on the devices you wish to connect.
RevPi Connect only has a PiBridge connector on the left side. You only have to connect I/O modules and RevPi Gateways on the left side. On the right side is the Connect port, which is reserved for the Connect modules.

Signal lines are used to transfer the data from one module to the other module via the PiBridge.

If you are developing your own devices and wish to incorporate them into your system later via the PiBridge, please note the details provided in the circuit diagrams.
