PiBridge is a backplane bus by which all the modules belonging to the Revolution Pi family can be connected.
The following add-ons can be connected to your RevPi Core using PiBridge:
- Up to 10 expansion modules (e.g. our I/O modules). Of these 10 Extension modules, 2 may be RevPi Gates modules.
The data is transmitted by signal lines from one module via the PiBridge to the other module.
The various signal lines have the following tasks:
Pin | Abbreviation | Description | Function |
Position recognition | These signal lines control the initial module and position recognition. RevPi Core thereby recognises on which side a module is connected.
A1 | SNIFF1a | Left select | |
B1 | SNIFF1b | Right select
A2 | SNIFF2a | Left Side acknowledge
B2 | SNIFF2b | Right Side acknowledge
Data Ground | |||
A3 | GND | Common Ground | Data Ground (common use with PIN B3). |
B3 | GND | Common Ground | Data Ground (common use with PIN A3). |
Ethernet channels | These signal lines manage RevPi Gate data traffic
A4 | LRX- | Left receive Data negative | Received data that is sent from the device on the left (data wire A). |
B4 | RTX- | Right transmit Data negative | Transmission data that is sent to the device on the right (data wire A). |
A5 | LRX+ | Left receive Data positive | Received data that is sent from the device on the left (data wire B). |
B5 | RTX+ | Right transmit Data positive | Transmission data that is sent to the device on the right (data wire B). |
A6 | LTX- | Left transmit Data negative | Transmission data that is sent to the device on the left (data wire A). |
B6 | RRX- | Right receive Data negative | Received data that is sent from the device on the right (data wire A). |
A7 | LTX+ | Left transmit Data positive | Transmission data that is sent to the device on the left (data wire B). |
B7 | RRX+ | Right receive Data positive | Received data that is sent from the device on the right (data wire B). |
Data Ground | |||
A8 | GND | Common Ground | Data Ground (common use with PIN B8). |
B8 | GND | Common Ground | Data Ground (common use with PIN A8). |
RS485 channels | These signal lines serve the exchange of status and configuration data and the I/O module data exchange.
A9 | RS485+ | RS485 positive
B9 | RS485+ | RS485 positive
A10 | RS485- | RS485 negative
B10 | RS485- | RS485 negative |
