Information about our RAM and eMMC surcharges

RAM and eMMC prices have been rising sharply for months. We therefore need to apply surcharges to our base modules.

Following the rise in RAM prices, prices for NAND flash and eMMC memory have also risen sharply worldwide since the beginning of 2026. This is due to the persistently high demand for storage capacity for AI servers, which is causing manufacturers to increasingly shift their production toward higher-margin enterprise products—at the expense of the availability and pricing of eMMC storage, such as that used in our Revolution Pi products.

For this reason, we introduced an eMMC surcharge on July 10, 2026. It is important to us to handle this development transparently: As with the RAM surcharge, we are passing this surcharge on to our customers without adding any additional margin. The eMMC surcharge applies in addition to the existing RAM surcharge, which remains unaffected by this adjustment and continues to apply unchanged.

Due to rising RAM prices, we have been applying a temporary RAM surcharge to our base modules since February 16, 2026. On April 2, 2026, we had to adjust this surcharge in response to further price increases.

Background

Since the beginning of the year, prices for Raspberry Pi Compute Modules have risen by an average of around 80%, driven by three price increases in February, March, and April. The underlying cause is an unprecedented rise in RAM prices, driven by strong demand from the AI infrastructure sector.

Our Response

To provide our customers with price stability and planning reliability, we have absorbed the second price increase in March at the expense of our own margin.

In early April 2026, Raspberry Pi raised prices again significantly. This third adjustment within three months, however, puts us in a situation where we can no longer absorb the full impact.

As part of our RAM surcharge, we are passing on the price increases from early April and early February to our customers one-to-one, with no additional markup. The March 2026 increase we continue to absorb ourselves.

Outlook

Together with Raspberry Pi, we are working to keep the impact as low as possible.

We consider the current market situation to be temporary. As soon as conditions in the memory market ease, the RAM surcharges will be reduced accordingly.

We naturally hope that no further price adjustments will be necessary, but given the highly dynamic development of RAM prices, we need to continue monitoring the market closely.
