"Help Installing Soft dPAC on RevPi Connect+ S (Docker & Partition Setup)"

Post by wass »

Hi everyone,

We're currently working on installing Soft dPAC from Schneider Electric on a Revolution Pi Connect+ S as part of the UAO initiative using IEC 61499. The goal is to use the EcoStruxure Automation Expert software to program the controller, as it's Linux-based and in theory should support the RevPi platform.

However, we’ve hit a few roadblocks following Schneider’s installation instructions for Soft dPAC. Specifically:

The setup requires configuring the Revolution Pi to support a partition and Docker, which Soft dPAC depends on.

We’ve attempted to follow the steps, but are unable to complete some of them — particularly around partitioning and getting Docker properly running on the device.

We’re hoping someone here might have experience installing Docker or running containerised applications like Soft dPAC on the RevPi Connect+ S and can point us in the right direction.

Our setup:

Hardware: Revolution Pi Connect+ S

Software goal: Run Soft dPAC (IEC 61499) via EcoStruxure Automation Expert

Issue: Difficulty with partitioning and enabling Docker as required by Soft dPAC installation steps

Any guidance, examples, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks in advance,

Wass

At which point of the linked instructions did you ran into an issue? The shown should also apply to any RevPi (make sure to use the correct root device, eg check df as suggested in the docs)
