Revpibridge error :error code 8453

Post by MarcNdanji »

I'm writing to get technical support for a problem I'm experiencing.

I am using a Revpi Connect+ (Computer module 3) in which I recently installed your most recent Revpi Bullseye armhf image (32bits) as shown in one of the attached image. The Revpi is physically connected to two DIO modules with the appropriate connectors (pibridge left and pibridge end).

Then I created a project with the latest version of CODESYS V3.5 SP20 Patch 4 in which I deployed the packages necessary to deploy CODESYS Control (Codesys Control for Linux ARM SL , CODESYS Edge Gateway for Linux) and also your library Revolutionpibridge V 2.0.0

All these steps went smoothly but when I load my project the pibridgeleft and pibridgeright components are in error in the component tree. In the logs I get this error: ‘Errorcode 8453: No valid RevPi Base device found in codesys device tree Connection’. I suspected a configuration conflict with Pictory but the error doesn't seem to be coming from there, especially as your latest package versions are supposed to have solved this problem.

The attached images illustrate the situation, and I remain at your disposal should you require any further information.

Hi MarcNdanji at first glance I can say that it is possibly a detail that is causing this error. the PiBridgeRight does not exist in the Connect +. Try removing it. The documentation for CODESYS commissioning is here:

Codesys tell me it's impossible to delete the piBridgeRight of Revpi_Connect_S.

Hello MarcNdanji pardon, I was wrong here. The problem is the sequence in the device tree.

Take a look at the following helpful CODESYS FAQ entry from our knowlededge base:

I have an issue with my RevPi with CODESYS. We get the error message that a driver for the PiBridge is missing

Hello, I'm coming back to you because I'm still having a problem while interfacing my revpi with my dio modules.

My Revpi is a RevPi Connect S with a Compute Module3. I have installed the Linux Raspbian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)” image, the CODESYS V3.5 SP20 IDE and the Revpibridge 2.0.0 package. The tests I carried out were in a blank Codesys program with only Revpi and two dio modules.

The first observation I made is that my DIO modules manufactured in 2019/2020/2021 have a red blink led when connected with my revpi, but my DIOs manufactured in 2022 have green led. I would therefore like to know if you are aware of these compatibility problems.

As for the DIOs that seem to work fine, they also have a fault. When I put 12V on input1, inputs 1, 2 and 9 are set to TRUE, but when I put 12V on input2, nothing is activated. And from input 3 to input 8, each time I have the correct input set to true, but also the input with the number +8 (for example, input 3 and input 8 are set to true when I put 12V on input3).

I can't find an explanation for all this and I suspect compatibility problems. Can you help me?
