Duplicating image duplicates MAC address, how to set?

Cloning an image from one RevPI to another will also clone the MAC address.

Is there a way to resolve this, *WITHOUT* using revpi-factory-reset ?

I do not want to use revpi-factory-reset because it also sets the hostname and password.

The MAC address is set in /boot/config.txt with dtparam. You can have a look at the factory reset script in order to see how the MAC is set.
