CM4 to CM3 adapter compatibility

Hello,

I recently bought RevPi Connect S 8 GB. I have plenty of CM4 modules. Will RevPi Connect S work with CM4 module with this adapter: https://www.waveshare.com/cm4-to-cm3-board.htm ?

Hi Tomasz, the CM4S is not the same as the CM4 so I don't think it will fit. However, I can not give you an exact statement here. In the datasheet of the RevPi Connect S the processor BCM2711 is used. But in the form factor of the CM3.

I've did a quick test if this could fit mechanically and I guess with some Kapton tape covering the screw terminals underneath the adapter this MIGHT work. No idea about the IO pins nor is this anything we will ever support officially.

The bootloader will identify this as a CM4 and will load the CM4 devicetree. So out of the box this will moste likely not work.
