Codesys + RS485 Config for Connect S

Hello!

I have a RevPi Connect S with the following configurations:

• Bullseye (09/2023) (Can't update top the latest version right now due to damaged microUSB port) with updated Pictory to 2.10.0.0

• CODESYS Development System V3.5.20.0 Patch3 +

• Revolution Pi Library for CODESYS V2.0.0.0 (ID: 8433)

• CODESYS Control for Linux ARM 4.13.0.0

I'm trying to read data from a sensor via the RS485 available on the RevPi Connect S. I have already checked that the RevPi RS485 port and the sensor is working fine but the Codesys shows that the bus is not running. I want to set up a MODBUS RTU Master and I have followed this : https://revolutionpi.com/en/tutorials/b ... rtu-master but I still have this error.

I wanted to know what must be set in the config file. There are many suggestions related to this issue:

• /dev/ttyUSB in ----> /etc/CODESYSControl.cfg https://revolutionpi.com/en/tutorials/b ... rtu-master

• /dev/ttyUSB in ----> /etc/CODESYSControl_User.cfg viewtopic.php?t=3592&start=10

• One user says at the end that it worked when /dev/ttyUSB in ----> both /etc/CODESYSControl.cfg & /etc/CODESYSControl_User.cfg viewtopic.php?t=3408

• A user suggests that /dev/ttyRS48 in (NO 5 AT END) ----> /etc/CODESYSControl_User.cfg https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Ru ... 2239cdd18/ and this is also on the KUNBUS Support FAQ

  

All these options and suggestions are quite confusing and none of them actually work, so what is the official solution for RevPi Connect S. Also is there any other setting for this?

Thank you, Dirk, for the reply, but unfortunately, even the suggested solution didn't help. I'm still coming across these errors

I already have /dev/ttyUSB in /etc/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl_User.cfg and in Codesys I am using the Port 1.

Also, can you please confirm if we need to buy Modbus Bus license? In the forum or anywhere, it was not mentioned that we need a Modbus license. Also, even in demo mode, the Modbus_Server_COM_Port bus is not working (Last image). Can you please tell me if there are any other licenses other than the Modbus license necessary for this?

Well, take a look at the CODESYS Checklist regarding license issues, commissioning CODESYS so that you can run the available demo projects.

I have checked the FAQs and followed the checklist, but there is no specific explanation for a license for using RS485. Also, the Modbus Server doesn't work even in demo mode. It doesn't have a license error. The error for Modbus Server is 'A bus error has occurred' or 'The bus is not working.'
