Hello KristinH,
okay, sounds strange to me in case "piTest -x" returns permission issues.
Can you install the latest image using the steps from this helpful checklist:

Re: RealVNC show grey screen when connect to RevPi
Hello Guest13,
this is nice - a reply with a YouTube video perfectly showing the erroneous behavior. Great!
The host name is RevPi right? This is the default hostname after flashing. But your RevPi device needs to be "married" with the hardware case, which means the device has to be initialized ...

Re: RealVNC show grey screen when connect to RevPi
Hello Guest13,I have just activated the VNC server with the current RevPi Bookworm 64-bit OS 01/2025. I did this from the command line as always with:
Code: Select all
sudo raspi-config

Re: start-config. fails to start
Hi KristinH,I understand that sometimes the modules show a red PWR LED after a restart. Then a reset driver or “piTest -x” makes it work again, right? There may be a newer version of the kernel and the PiControl driver. Update the system:

Re: Problem reading Modbus RTU signals
Hello Marc,
thank you for your detailed report of the problem.
Can you share the Modbus configuration with us?
Furthermore, a Kern.log would be interesting to see if there are any further relevant error messages.
Alternatively, send us an SOS report. This gives us a comprehensive overview ...

Re: Modbus to MQTT
Hello, so in principle you can proceed like this, you look at the helpful Revolution Pi Gateway Tutorial and use the MQTT Broker for this.

Re: RevPi Connect SE no data from Wireless M-Bus Module
Hallo, entschuldige, das war in der Tat nicht mehr online - jetzt einfach noch einmal den Link öffnen, ich habe es ergänzt. Es kann sein, dass es nicht mit Python 3, sondern mit Python 2 funktioniert.

Re: RealVNC show grey screen when connect to RevPi
Hello Guest13, Which image did you use? If you are using the "RevPi Bookworm 64-bit Lite (01/2025)", the graphical user interface is not included. That would explain the behavior. Then switch to the "RevPi Bookworm 64-bit Default (01/2025)" image and just try it again.
