Overview RevPi Flat

The RevPi Flat has various connections which may be needed for your projects. Here you can find out what they are and what you can use them for.

Note: The design of the RevPi Flat implies high protection against undesirable manipulation. For this reason, flashing the image of the RevPi Flat is not possible (in contrast to other RevPi devices).

Ethernet Ports

There are two ports with four RJ45 sockets, marked LAN 0 and LAN 1/SWITCH on the housing.
Tip: If a small installation height is important to you, use an angled plug.

USB Ports

Two USB-A ports are available. This allows you to connect USB 2.0 devices (e.g. USB hard drives, WLAN sticks, etc.).
The ports may each have a maximum load of 500 mA. If you need more than two USB‑A ports, you can find a suitable USB hub in our shop.

Digital Output

There is a digital output in the form of a potential-free relay contact. This allows you to switch external devices on and off, for example.

Status LEDs

The RevPi Flat has six status LEDs. We have already assigned the “PWR” LED (top right). It indicates whether your RevPi Flat is working properly (green) or if there is a problem (red).
The remaining LEDs can be assigned freely for your own projects.

Button

With the button you can perform actions such as the controlled shutdown of the RevPi Flat.
It can be retrieved by software in the same way as a keyboard entry. The KEY_UNKNOWN key code is used (corresponds to value 240).

Connection for the Power Supply

You can operate the RevPi Flat in a typical voltage range with 24 VDC, but also from 12 VDC to 28.8 VDC with restrictions.
Note: Do not connect the power supply until you have mounted your device on the top-hat rail.

Analog Output

Your RevPi Flat has an analog output. Here you can connect actuators working with analog signals common in the industry with 0 – 10 VDC.

Analog Input

Your RevPi Flat has an analog input that you can use either as a current or voltage measurement input. Here you can connect sensors working with analog signals common in the industry with 0 – 10 VDC or 0 – 20 mA.

RS485 Interfaces

Your RevPi Flat has two RS485 interfaces. One is designed as a 3-pole socket and one as an RJ11 socket. This allows you to connect sensors for Modbus RTU, for example.

WLAN/Bluetooth Antenna Connection

The RevPi Flat has a combined WLAN and Bluetooth connection.

ISM 868 MHz Antenna Connection

The ISM interface is designed so that you can use it, for example, for Wireless M-Bus applications.

Ventilation Slots

Air flows through the ventilation slots from the bottom to the top of the device and cools the electronics (chimney effect).
Make sure that the ventilation slots are not covered and observe the installation distances.
