Hi,
I have a new revPi5 and I can connect, but in Cockpit when I click on Accounts or Services the page is continuously being redrawn, and I cannot click on any item. It seems to be stuck in an endless loop. How do I fix this?

To help you better, could you clarify if this is a brand new RevPi Connect 5 out of the box, or if you've upgraded from a previous system? Also, are you accessing Cockpit locally (directly connected to the RevPi) or remotely over the network?

If this is a new RevPi Connect 5, have you performed a complete reboot after the initial setup? Sometimes the first boot process needs a full restart to properly initialize all services.
Could you try accessing Cockpit from a different web browser or clear your current browser's cache and cookies? Or maybe use temporarily mode to see if the issue persists.

Are you running the latest RevPi Bookworm 64-Bit image (11/2025 release)?
If you're on an older image, updating to the latest version should resolve this issue as newer releases include improved Cockpit stability and performance optimizations.

You can update your system through the terminal using the commands documented in our documentation, or if Cockpit becomes partially accessible, through the Updates section in Cockpit itself.

This is a brand new RevPi Connect5 . I did do an update, and rebooted multiple times.
I was accessing it on the network using the Firefox browser from a Windows 11 PC.

I did a bit more poking around, and tried it from Chrome and it works fine on Chrome with no redrawing!

I also have an older RevPi Connect 4. When I setup it up 6 months ago it did not have this problem using Firefox, but now, it is also showing the same redrawing problem with Firefox, but with Chrome it is ok.

Running Firefox from a different Windows 10 PC causes shows the redraw problem.

Running Firefox v142 from a raspberry pi seems to be Good, no redrawing.
Running Firefox v146 from the same raspberry pi shows the redraw problem

It looks to be a problem when accessing the pages from Firefox version 146

Thank you very much for taking the time to do such thorough debugging! This is helpful information that clearly identifies the issue (or compatibility problem) between Cockpit and Firefox version 146...

I'll forward this detailed information to my colleagues and we'll take a look at this in the coming days. But please keep in mind that most of our team is currently on holiday break, so any significant changes or fixes won't be implemented until next year.

In the meantime, Chrome provides a perfect workaround for accessing Cockpit on your RevPi Connect 5 and Connect 4 systems.

your analysis of the problem was spot on. Firefox versions 146 and 147 do indeed exhibit this bug. The good news is that newer versions appear to have resolved the issue - Firefox 148 is scheduled for release at the end of February.

We are glad to hear that you found a workaround by using Chrome in the meantime.
