Corrupted eMMC after Failed OS Update on RevPi Connect SE

was attempting to upgrade my RevPi Connect SE from the Bullseye image to the latest Bookworm image using rpi-boot. I followed all the steps from the forum posts, instructions and youtube video ncluding using the watchdog jumper to flash the new image. It flashed successfully.
After reboot I was not able to ssh into the revpi as it said request denied on my windows 11 PC both using the inbuilt ssh and MobaXterm. However the IP address did show up on the network.
I decideed to go back to the older image and as I was flashing the flash stopped and errored out and USB disappeared. I had to power cycle and whenever I try to use rpi boot it starts and as soon as the storage mounts the whole computer hangs up and does not work unless I remove the USB connection. The same connection was working well before with the same cable.
I suspect the filesystem is corrupted. Windows throws the errors and is not able to mount the drive as soon as rpi boot works.
Is it worth it to try flashing with linux. The EMMC maybe permanently corrupted. I can replace the compute module if needed. I am comfortable with working with electrolnics.
Kindly advise the best course of action.
