AIO Module: Configuring Active 24V 4-20mA Analog Output

Hello,
I'm working on implementing a 4-20mA analog output signal using a Revolution Pi Connect 4 with an AIO module. I need to configure it as an active output (where the module provides the 24V power supply).

My specific questions are:
  • Can the AIO module's analog output be configured as an active 24V 4-20mA signal source?
If yes, what is the correct wiring configuration for connecting to a passive receiver?
  • What is the maximum load resistance supported for this configuration?
  • Are there any specific settings or configurations needed in RevPiModIO to enable this mode?
My intended application is to send control signals to a passive device that expects a 4-20mA input signal without its own power supply.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or documentation references regarding this setup.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards

Hi, thank you for your reply. I have looked at it but it doesn't specify if the 4 -20mA option is 24v active/self powered.

Hi aok, we can certainly learn to improve here. Take a look at the data sheet:

Download Datasheet RevPi AIO Module
Download Datasheet RevPi AIO Module
I hope it answers your questions about whether the outputs meet the requirements of your application.
